I was finally able to finish this book!! The past two weeks have been kind of crazy and I rarely found time to read but it’s all good. Just enjoying my summer. :)
Anyways, City of Lost Souls starts off a couple of weeks after Jace and Sebastian disappear. I honestly do not like the whole kill Sebastian and Jace dies and vice versa. I actually believe that The Mortal Instruments would have done great with just three books in the series. I feel City of Glass was an incredible way to end the series. Needless to say, I continue reading the series because it is one that I have learned to enjoy very much and I want to know what will happen to Clary and the gang in the end.
Something that I always look forward to is the battle scenes towards the end of the novel. In this case, I found it pretty good. My favorite fight has got to be Clary and Sebastian’s. I really liked that throughout the book, Clary got the opportunity to showcase all the Shadowhunter skills she has learned so far.
I have also learned to like the change in narrator every once in awhile. I find it kind of necessary too because the characters are all doing something different and it gives you the chance to dive into their minds and see what they are feeling at those moments.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book but at times, I feel that it is a series that is being dragged on and on.
